In this dynamic, custom, hand-drawn presentation, XPLANE Creative Director Tim May illustrates the value of integrating drawing into higher education. May’s presentation style exemplifies how the very act of drawing creates engagement for learners. His approach to visual language mirrors the acquisition of parallel language skills (spoken language, music, programming) with a focus on developing a level of literacy.

In this recording, Tim presents a number of concrete use cases educators can employ as they start a path toward making the content of their instruction more engaging and enjoyable.

Tim oversees nearly all of XPLANE’s projects, including strategy activation, process innovation, culture, and organizational change. He designs and leads workshops, creates visual maps and toolkits for communicating, training, and engaging leaders and associates.

Prior to XPLANE, Tim worked as a part of Hewlett Packard’s internal Innovation Consulting team and as an art director/designer at a number of advertising and marketing agencies.
