PORTLAND, Ore. (Nov. 3, 2008) — XPLANE, a global information design consultancy, announces the hiring of two employees at its headquarters in Portland.

Rich Shawen joins XPLANE as director of finance. In this role he is responsible for overseeing the financial management and strategic planning for all of XPLANE Group. Prior to XPLANE Shawen was with Widmer Brothers Brewing Co. where he worked as the chief financial officer and vice president of finance.

Tim May has been named senior interactive designer. In this role May will design and implement interactive solutions for clients’ diverse communications needs. May comes to XPLANE from Curiosity Group in Portland where he worked as senior designer and art director. An accomplished artist, May was the 2007 winner of the Portland Cut&Paste tournament. He was also one of only 12 elite artists selected by Wacom to participate in the Power of the Pens project. In addition, May was a presenter at the Adobe® Creative Suite® 4 launch event.
